While trained in common portray approaches, Dutch artist Joris Kuipers isnt content with the constraints of a rectangular frame or parts that sit stationary on the wall. His undulating, cloud-like installations appear to float and flutter as if a clump of huge, vibrant autumn leaves have been tossed upwards and frozen in mid-air.
In his ongoing series Jardin Suspendus and In Bloom, Kuipers invokes the atmosphere of gardens. Floral-like shapes overlap, swell, and skitter in web page-unique installations, whether or not hanging from the ceiling or flaring up from pedestals. Mounted on stem-like supports, the lively varieties playfully evade a one definition, taking on the organic and natural, blossoming high-quality of bouquets, coral, or lichen.
Kuipers was not too long ago commissioned by U.K.-primarily based company ArtLink for a collection of operates in crimson niches that will finally be mounted in a new cruise ship. Uncover extra on the artists web site and Instagram.
